Principal Data Architect

Egen is a fast-growing, data-first company dedicated to solving complex engineering challenges through advanced technology. We are looking for a Principal Data Architect to join our team and help clients drive meaningful impact by designing scalable, high-performance data solutions on Google Cloud Platform.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the end-to-end architecture, design, and implementation of scalable Data Lakehouse solutions using BigQuery, GCS, and Dataplex.
• Collaborate with customers to translate complex business goals and data challenges into robust architectural blueprints.
• Design and implement advanced data pipelines supporting both real-time and batch ingestion using modern orchestration frameworks.
• Establish best practices for data cataloging, metadata management, lineage, and data quality across diverse systems.
• Serve as a technical lead, mentoring engineers and ensuring architectural consistency across all project deliverables.

Requirements

• 8–10 years of experience in software engineering and data platform development, with at least 5 years focused on GCP or Databricks.
• Proven expertise in designing and deploying Data Lakehouse platforms using medallion architectures.
• Strong proficiency in data modeling, storage optimization, and performance tuning for large-scale analytical workloads.
• Experience implementing comprehensive data governance, security, and access control models.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to act as a trusted technical advisor to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
