Principal AI-Augmented Test Automation Engineer

Sigma Software is seeking a Principal AI-Augmented Test Automation Engineer to lead and scale our AI-native E2E test automation offering. You will shape engagement models, establish scalable testing processes, and evolve a reusable Playwright and TypeScript framework used across diverse client environments.

Key responsibilities

• Define and evolve the engagement model for AI-native test automation initiatives and advise stakeholders on quality strategy.
• Review AI-generated outputs, including code and architecture, to identify systemic issues and ensure high-quality engineering workflows.
• Define principles and guardrails for effective AI usage, optimizing prompts and framework integrations for efficiency.
• Own and evolve a scalable Playwright and TypeScript automation framework, ensuring architectural consistency and portability.

Requirements

• Strong hands-on experience with Playwright and TypeScript test automation architecture and building frameworks from scratch.
• Deep understanding of scalable E2E testing design patterns and experience working with AI coding agents like Cursor or Claude Code.
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to validate AI-generated outputs and define reusable engineering practices.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to work in customer-facing advisory and consulting environments.
