Portfolio Associate

The Humanitarian OpenStreetMap Team is seeking a dedicated Portfolio Associate to join our global team. This role is essential for supporting our project and program management infrastructure, focusing on budget planning cycles, organizational tooling, and operational support to ensure our humanitarian initiatives run smoothly and effectively.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate annual planning processes and mid-year budget realignments while supporting project finance staff.
• Manage project start-up and close-out procedures, ensuring all documentation and planning requirements are met.
• Serve as the primary organizational point of contact for Asana, providing training, troubleshooting, and driving tool adoption.
• Contribute to the refinement of organizational infrastructure and business processes.
• Provide surge support for the Operations team regarding travel logistics and physical security protocols.

Requirements

• At least 3 years of professional experience, including field project work.
• Lived experience working in Asia, Latin America, the Caribbean, or Africa.
• Proven experience in budget management and project coordination using software like Asana.
• Strong background in facilitating training sessions or workshops.
• Excellent written communication skills and the ability to work independently.
• Deep commitment to humanitarian work and understanding of open source and open data culture.
