micro1 is seeking a highly skilled Physics Expert specializing in Condensed Matter and Magnetic Materials to contribute to a cutting-edge research initiative. In this role, you will leverage your deep domain knowledge to help train next-generation AI systems, ensuring they can reason and perform accurately within the complex field of magnetic physics.
Key responsibilities
- Analyze and interpret magnetic structure factors using propagation-vector methodologies and advanced symmetry concepts.
- Identify and classify various magnetic phases, including AFM and FM, by evaluating both theoretical and experimental data such as neutron diffraction results.
- Curate and validate magnetic space group assignments, ensuring strict adherence to BNS notation conventions and established datasets like MAGNDATA.
- Evaluate optical phenomena, such as birefringence and the magneto-optic Kerr effect, to connect them to underlying magnetic structures.
Requirements
- Advanced academic background, specifically a PhD or equivalent research experience, in condensed matter physics with a focus on magnetism.
- Demonstrated proficiency in magnetic structure factor calculations and symmetry-based phase identification.
- Direct experience working with magnetic space groups and hands-on familiarity with MAGNDATA and BNS notation.
- Strong technical knowledge of neutron scattering techniques for magnetic structure determination.
