Boston Medical Center is seeking a dedicated Patient Service Representative to join our Ambulatory Call Center team. In this fully remote role, you will serve as a primary point of contact for patients, ensuring they receive professional, empathetic, and efficient support regarding their healthcare needs.
Key responsibilities
- Manage inbound and outbound communications via phone, email, chat, and fax to address patient inquiries and concerns.
- Coordinate appointment scheduling and rescheduling using computerized systems while providing detailed instructions to patients.
- Maintain accurate patient records and documentation within the Epic system to ensure seamless care coordination.
- Assist patients in navigating the healthcare system by explaining complex issues with empathy and clarity.
- Collaborate with clinical staff to resolve medication reconciliation and refill requests according to established protocols.
Requirements
- High School diploma or GED equivalent.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English, with a focus on patient-centered service.
- Strong computer proficiency, including experience with Microsoft Office applications and the ability to learn new clinical software.
- Proven ability to handle sensitive information with strict adherence to HIPAA and privacy regulations.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively within a diverse, fast-paced team environment.
