P2P Node.js Engineer - Holepunch (100% Remote, Worldwide)

Tether Operations Limited is seeking a skilled P2P Node.js Engineer to join our team and contribute to the development of Holepunch. You will play a critical role in expanding and strengthening our core P2P networking and storage primitives, working within a global team dedicated to pioneering advancements in digital finance and peer-to-peer technology.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain high-performance P2P networking and storage primitives using Node.js.
• Optimize network protocols to ensure maximum performance and reliability.
• Implement custom binary protocols and serialization formats for efficient data exchange.
• Apply cryptographic primitives to ensure secure and private P2P communication.
• Profile and optimize networked systems to handle complex, distributed environments.

Requirements

• Extensive knowledge of P2P protocols such as Kademlia, BitTorrent, libp2p, or hypercore.
• Advanced JavaScript skills with a focus on high-performance networking code.
• Deep understanding of UDP and TCP/IP networking, including NAT traversal techniques.
• Proven experience in building production-grade P2P or distributed systems.
• Strong ability to work effectively in a fully remote, global environment.
