Oracle Database Administrator with Exadata

Cognizant is seeking an experienced Oracle Database Administrator to join our team and manage enterprise-level database environments. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring the high availability, performance, and security of mission-critical systems while supporting complex infrastructure needs.

Key responsibilities

• Install, configure, upgrade, and maintain Oracle and Informix database environments.
• Perform database provisioning, cloning, and environment refreshes across development and production stages.
• Monitor database health, capacity, and availability while resolving incidents and performing root cause analysis.
• Analyze and optimize SQL queries, indexes, and database structures to ensure peak performance.
• Design and maintain robust backup and recovery strategies, including regular restore tests and disaster recovery drills.

Requirements

• Extensive experience in Oracle Database Administration and working with Exadata systems.
• Strong proficiency in SQL, PL/SQL, and Unix/Linux operating systems.
• Solid understanding of backup and recovery strategies, including RMAN and replication technologies.
• Proven experience with database upgrades, migrations, and performance tuning.
• Knowledge of networking basics and storage concepts.
