Open Source Contributor

micro1 is seeking experienced open source contributors to join a complex and challenging software engineering project. In this role, you will focus on creating Reinforcement Learning Environments designed to test AI models on their ability to solve intricate software engineering problems, including code refactoring, feature creation, and performance optimization.

Key responsibilities

• Contribute production-quality code, reviews, and documentation to relevant open-source repositories.
• Design, implement, and optimize complex algorithms using languages such as C++, Python, Java, GoLang, TypeScript, or Rust.
• Identify and resolve technical challenges, bugs, and performance bottlenecks within existing codebases.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to align deliverables with project goals and maintain high engineering standards.
• Create and maintain technical documentation to facilitate knowledge sharing and team onboarding.

Requirements

• Proven track record of open source contributions, demonstrated through active GitHub or GitLab profiles.
• Strong proficiency in one or more of the following languages: C++, Python, Java, GoLang, TypeScript, or Rust.
• Experience working on large-scale, distributed codebases.
• Background in participating in rigorous code reviews and establishing software development best practices.
• Familiarity with modern AI or machine learning systems is considered a significant advantage.
