[MSO] Senior OpenStack Engineer

Software Mind is looking for a Senior OpenStack Engineer to join an internal team focused on designing, deploying, and operating private and sovereign cloud platforms for enterprise clients. You will take ownership of the architecture and work directly with client architects to deliver robust, scalable cloud environments ranging from multi-region platforms to edge clusters.

Key responsibilities

• Own the platform architecture across control plane, compute, storage, and network, including high availability and resource sizing.
• Produce comprehensive design documentation, including High Level Design, Low Level Design, and operational runbooks.
• Deploy and upgrade platforms using Kolla-Ansible with configuration maintained as code in Git.
• Integrate core services such as Cinder, OVN, Open vSwitch, Keystone, Octavia, and Barbican.
• Act as a third-line escalation point for managed platforms and lead root cause analysis efforts.
• Conduct technical workshops, design reviews, and acceptance testing with client representatives.

Requirements

• At least 6 years of experience in infrastructure, virtualization, or cloud platforms, with 3 years specifically in production OpenStack environments.
• Proven experience designing OpenStack architecture, including at least one full implementation from design to production.
• Strong command of core OpenStack services and deployment experience with Kolla-Ansible.
• Advanced Linux administration skills, including KVM, libvirt, and container runtimes.
• Solid background in cloud networking, including OVN, Open vSwitch, and overlay technologies.
• C1 level proficiency in English, enabling independent technical communication with clients.
