Software Mind is looking for an OpenStack Engineer to join an internal team focused on building and operating private and sovereign cloud platforms for enterprise clients across Western Europe. You will work on diverse environments, ranging from multi-region platforms to compact edge clusters, while receiving mentorship from senior engineers and architects.
Key responsibilities
- Install and configure OpenStack components using Kolla-Ansible according to design specifications.
- Prepare infrastructure nodes, including operating systems, KVM virtualization, and storage access.
- Configure networking and storage solutions, such as OVN tenant networks and Cinder volume types.
- Deploy and maintain monitoring and logging stacks, including Prometheus, Grafana, and OpenSearch.
- Manage second-line incidents, service requests, and planned maintenance tasks.
- Automate repeatable workflows using Ansible and CI pipelines.
Requirements
- At least 3 years of experience in Linux administration and OpenStack operation or implementation.
- Proficiency in core OpenStack services like Nova, Neutron, Keystone, Glance, and Cinder.
- Strong diagnostic skills using OpenStack CLI and service logs to troubleshoot platform issues.
- Solid understanding of platform internals, including APIs, schedulers, and message queues.
- Practical experience with Kolla-Ansible, containerized services, KVM, libvirt, and Git.
- Strong knowledge of networking fundamentals, including VLANs, routing, and overlay networks.
- English proficiency at a B2 level for technical documentation and client communication.
