Mobile Engineer (iOS + Android)

Nettle is a VC-backed insurtech company transforming how commercial insurers assess risk by leveraging advanced AI technology. We are currently seeking a skilled Mobile Engineer to take full ownership of our native iOS and Android applications, ensuring seamless performance for our field surveyors working in challenging environments.

Key responsibilities

• Own the development of both native applications using Swift for iOS and Kotlin for Android, managing the full release lifecycle.
• Develop robust capture flows for camera, audio, and file handling to ensure data integrity during site visits.
• Implement reliable offline-first synchronization, including local storage management and background uploads for unstable network conditions.
• Maintain high quality across both platforms through rigorous testing, crash monitoring, and performance optimization.

Requirements

• At least 3 years of professional experience building production-grade mobile applications in both Swift and Kotlin.
• Proven expertise in managing offline storage, complex data synchronization, and background processing tasks.
• Ability to work autonomously as the sole mobile owner, taking full responsibility for both platforms.
• Strong communication skills in English, enabling effective collaboration with our international team.
