Mid Observability Engineer

DataArt is seeking a skilled Mid Observability Engineer to join a collaborative team focused on building a robust, configurable telemetry platform. You will play a key role in designing and implementing advanced monitoring, tracing, and metrics capabilities for modern cloud applications using OpenTelemetry and AWS services.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and enhance Python SDK libraries for telemetry collection and observability solutions.
• Design and maintain AWS Distro for OpenTelemetry collector configurations, including pipelines, processors, and exporters.
• Implement OpenTelemetry SDK extension patterns for custom metrics, custom spans, and configurable telemetry.
• Build and optimize export pipelines for AWS CloudWatch Metrics and AWS X-Ray.
• Collaborate with engineering teams to define observability requirements and telemetry standards.

Requirements

• 3+ years of experience in observability engineering, platform engineering, or a related field.
• Proven experience designing and implementing ADOT or OpenTelemetry collector pipelines.
• Strong proficiency in developing Python SDKs, libraries, or reusable software components.
• Solid experience with AWS CloudWatch Metrics and AWS X-Ray integrations.
• Deep understanding of observability concepts, including metrics, traces, and telemetry pipelines.
