Media Officer and Social Media Coordinator

PETA Asia is dedicated to establishing and protecting the rights of all animals, operating under the principle that animals are not ours to eat, wear, experiment on, or use for entertainment. We are seeking a passionate Media Officer and Social Media Coordinator to join our fully remote team and help amplify our mission through strategic communication and digital engagement.

Key responsibilities

• Develop regional marketing and media plans to support celebrity campaigns, video launches, and investigations.
• Identify and build professional relationships with media outlets and journalists to secure coverage.
• Prepare news releases, media statements, and manage follow-up communications.
• Create and distribute engaging content for social media platforms, website articles, and email campaigns.
• Act as a spokesperson for the organization and conduct interviews when required.

Requirements

• Thorough commitment to and extensive knowledge of animal rights issues and campaigns.
• Must be vegan and supportive of PETA’s philosophy and advocacy goals.
• Exceptional written and oral communication skills in English.
• Extensive experience managing social media pages with a proven track record of fostering engagement.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team under pressure and tight deadlines.
