Mechanical Design / CAD Expert

micro1 is seeking a Mechanical Design / CAD Expert to contribute to a challenging project focused on advanced engineering solutions. In this role, you will apply your domain expertise to help train next-generation AI systems, shaping how models learn and perform through high-quality, real-world input.

Key responsibilities

• Provide detailed input on mechanical design solutions, including component and assembly modeling using advanced CAD tools.
• Evaluate and critique engineering drawings for accuracy, manufacturability, and adherence to GD&T standards.
• Assess and provide recommendations for design for manufacturability and tolerance analysis practices.
• Contribute insights on engineering mechanics, tribology, and geometric modeling challenges.
• Create written and verbal explanations of mechanical engineering concepts to inform the development and training of AI models.

Requirements

• BS or MS in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering with a strong academic foundation.
• Substantial experience in production design, including hands-on use of GD&T, tolerance analysis, and DFM principles.
• Proficiency with industry-standard CAD platforms such as SolidWorks, CATIA, or NX.
• Strong understanding of tribology, engineering mechanics, and geometric dimensioning and tolerancing.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills with an ability to clearly convey technical concepts.
