Machine Learning Research Team Leader

Pretius is seeking a Machine Learning Research Team Leader to join a large-scale e-commerce platform development project. You will play a pivotal role in guiding a team of engineers and data scientists to deliver high-impact machine learning solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Lead, mentor, and develop a team of Machine Learning Engineers and Data Scientists to ensure high-quality delivery and professional growth.
• Oversee the end-to-end development of ML scoring models, including click and conversion prediction for sponsored offers.
• Drive model training initiatives, covering feature engineering, calibration, offline and online evaluation, and controlled rollouts.
• Define technical standards for model lifecycle management, workflow orchestration, and scalable ML development.
• Provide strategic input into the ML roadmap and communicate progress, risks, and business impact to senior stakeholders.

Requirements

• 8+ years of commercial experience in Machine Learning or Data Science within production environments.
• At least 2 years of proven people management experience.
• Hands-on expertise across the full ML lifecycle, including data preparation, training, evaluation, and production rollout.
• Advanced knowledge of Python, SQL, and deep learning frameworks such as PyTorch or TensorFlow.
• Experience working with Google Cloud Platform, including Vertex AI and BigQuery, alongside scalable data processing concepts.
