Machine Learning Engineer - Large Language Models

John Snow Labs is seeking a highly skilled Machine Learning Engineer to join our global team. This role focuses on the development, training, and evaluation of Large Language Models (LLMs) specifically tailored for the healthcare and life sciences sectors.

Key responsibilities

• Adapt LLMs to diverse healthcare use-cases using techniques such as Sparse Fine-Tuning, PEFT, DPO, and PPO.
• Optimize LLMs for Retriever-Augmented Generation to enhance decision-making and information retrieval capabilities.
• Collect, clean, and refine healthcare datasets to ensure high-quality data provisioning for model training.
• Convert models into various formats suitable for production environments to ensure readiness for real-world application.

Requirements

• 5+ years of hands-on professional experience in software engineering, building production-grade deep learning solutions.
• Academic degree in computer science, data science, or a related field, with a preference for M.Sc. or Ph.D. holders.
• Demonstrated expertise in model tuning frameworks like Axolotl and proficiency in PyTorch.
• Familiarity with model serving frameworks such as vLLM, TGI, and llama-cpp to support deployment and scalability.
• Knowledge of model quantization techniques to optimize AI models for performance in resource-constrained environments.
