Med-Metrix is seeking a dedicated Licensed Appeal Writer to join our team in a fully remote capacity. In this role, you will play a critical part in supporting our client hospitals by reviewing denied insurance claims and crafting compelling appeal letters to secure necessary payments.

Key responsibilities

  • Review denied insurance claims and analyze patients' medical files to identify opportunities for reversal.
  • Develop effective strategies to challenge claim denials and draft professional, persuasive appeal letters.
  • Manage and organize your appeal workflow to ensure all internal and insurance-driven requirements are met.
  • Maintain strict compliance with HIPAA standards and information security policies when handling protected health information.
  • Collaborate with nurses and other team members to ensure accurate and timely documentation.

Requirements

  • Active professional license as a Registered Nurse (RN), Physician's Assistant (PA), Nurse Practitioner (NP), Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN), Physical Therapist (PT), or Occupational Therapist (OT).
  • Four-year degree or equivalent professional work experience.
  • Exceptional reading comprehension skills with the ability to analyze complex medical terminology.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities, sound judgment, and the capacity to prioritize tasks under pressure.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and the ability to quickly master new software systems.
