Spyrosoft is seeking a Lead ROS Engineer to spearhead the migration of an autonomous vehicle platform from ROS 1 to ROS 2. You will work on an existing production robotics system, analyzing complex architectures and guiding the transition to a maintainable, production-ready ROS 2 environment while ensuring system integrity.
Key responsibilities
- Lead the migration of autonomous vehicle software from ROS 1 to ROS 2.
- Refactor and migrate existing C++ and Python components, including navigation, localization, and vehicle control systems.
- Configure DDS/QoS communication to optimize performance, synchronization, and reliability.
- Integrate and validate vehicle sensors, hardware interfaces, and CAN-based systems.
- Collaborate with customer engineering teams to provide technical guidance and document migration strategies.
Requirements
- Strong commercial experience with both ROS 1 and ROS 2, including migration projects.
- Advanced C++ development skills and proficiency in Python.
- Solid experience with Linux development environments.
- Proven background in autonomous vehicles, robotics platforms, or UGV systems.
- Expertise in navigation, localization, and system integration.
- Deep understanding of DDS/QoS configuration and optimization.
