The Wikimedia Foundation is seeking a Lead Product Manager to join our Product Safety and Integrity team. In this role, you will help shape the security strategy for Wikipedia, ensuring it remains a stable and trustworthy platform for over a billion monthly readers while navigating the challenges of the AI era.
Key responsibilities
- Shape the Foundation’s product security strategy and foster a strong organizational security culture.
- Drive the priorities for an engineering team focused on security and privacy, collaborating with designers, data scientists, and community managers.
- Design and develop technical interventions that protect the platform from bad actors while improving user safety.
- Communicate strategically with community members and act as a representative between the Wikimedia community and the Foundation.
- Partner with cross-departmental leaders to define the overall information security posture.
Requirements
- At least 7 years of professional experience in product-focused teams, with at least 2 years in a security-focused role.
- Proven track record of driving significant security initiatives to completion.
- Professional experience using AI-based tools for security analysis, code review, or software engineering.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to interact effectively with diverse stakeholders, including volunteers.
- Comfortable using command-line tools and managing complex responsibilities in a dynamic environment.
