Lead Machine Learning Engineer (Robotics & Computer Vision)

Red Sky is seeking a Lead Machine Learning Engineer to join the founding technical team of an early-stage robotics automation startup. You will own the product's ML core, working directly with the CTO to shape the technical direction and build cutting-edge computer vision solutions from the ground up.

Key responsibilities

• Owning the AI/ML core of the product and aligning it with the overall technical strategy.
• Designing and implementing neural network architectures using PyTorch and writing custom training loops.
• Managing the end-to-end lifecycle of AI/ML models, from raw data processing to edge deployment.
• Translating market needs into robust technical requirements and defining the AI/ML stack.
• Mentoring future team members and fostering a culture of high code quality and rapid iteration.

Requirements

• 3+ years of end-to-end Deep Learning experience, including training models from scratch and deep fine-tuning.
• Advanced proficiency in PyTorch, including custom data loaders and loss functions.
• Strong background in computer vision, specifically with CNNs, ViTs, object detection, and segmentation.
• Proven track record of shipping ML components in production-ready software products.
• Pragmatic startup mindset with the ability to thrive in fast-paced, high-uncertainty environments.
