The Wikimedia Foundation is seeking a Lead Learning Experience Designer to create innovative, accessible learning experiences that strengthen the capacity of volunteers and communities across the global Wikimedia movement. You will act as a learning product designer, identifying the right approaches to help contributors develop the skills and knowledge needed to participate effectively in our projects.
Key responsibilities
- Design and develop innovative digital learning experiences, capacity-strengthening resources, and performance support solutions.
- Partner with product teams, community groups, and subject matter experts to identify learning needs and contributor challenges.
- Determine the optimal learning approach, such as self-paced courses, interactive experiences, or AI-enabled support.
- Rapidly prototype, test, and iterate on learning solutions using modern authoring and multimedia tools.
- Evaluate learning effectiveness using feedback and data to continuously improve content based on community insights.
Requirements
- Proven experience designing and developing digital learning experiences for diverse, global audiences.
- Demonstrated ability to use learning management systems (LMS) to organize and publish content.
- Strong skills in diagnosing capability gaps and designing effective interventions.
- Excellent written communication skills with the ability to simplify complex concepts.
