We are seeking a Lead Infrastructure as Code (IaC) Engineer to drive a large-scale transformation from on-premise Windows-based infrastructure toward a fully automated, governed, and repeatable Microsoft Azure IaaS model.

This senior, hands-on engineer will be accountable for defining standards, automating multi-environment deployments, and industrialising the organisation's Azure migration framework. You will work across engineering, operations, security, and architecture teams to build Azure environments that are reliable, consistent, and scalable.

This role is delivery-focused, technically deep, and strategically impactful.

Main Responsibilities

The core duties of this role include:

• Define standard patterns for Azure IaaS aligned with Landing Zones, RBAC, security, and networking.

• Build reusable, validated templates for Windows VMs, networking, and security configurations.

• Lead adoption of Ansible and Terraform for provisioning and configuration automation.

• Automate provisioning for Windows Server and associated services.

• Build Azure DevOps/GitHub Actions pipelines for IaC validation and deployment.

• Standardise pre- and post-migration validation checks to ensure production readiness.

• Provide architectural direction and mentor internal engineers in IaC and cloud automation.

Key Requirements

• Senior-level experience with Azure IaaS architecture and migration.

• Strong background with Windows Server, Active Directory, SQL Server, and IIS.

• Extensive hands-on experience with Ansible and Terraform.

• Ability to convert manual infrastructure processes into IaC frameworks.

• Strong PowerShell skills, with an emphasis on refactoring into IaC modules.

• Experience building CI/CD-integrated infrastructure pipelines.

• Experience with automating multi-environment, multi-tenant deployments.

Nice to Have

• VMware-to-Azure migration experience.

• Knowledge of Azure networking and security architecture.

• Experience in fast-paced transformation programmes.
