Lead DBA – Database Administrator (PostgreSQL + AWS)

YOUR ITEAMS sp. z o.o. is seeking a Lead Database Administrator to join an international project within the tourism sector. You will be responsible for the administration, optimization, and resilience of large-scale PostgreSQL database environments hosted on AWS, ensuring high performance for production-grade systems.

Key responsibilities

• Administer and maintain PostgreSQL databases, managing deployments on AWS RDS and Aurora.
• Monitor database performance, availability, and stability while implementing observability and alerting improvements.
• Perform performance tuning and query optimization to support production SLAs and high-concurrency workloads.
• Develop and maintain infrastructure using Terraform, including revisions to existing IaC modules.
• Troubleshoot and resolve database incidents and production issues, working with datasets exceeding 50 TB.

Requirements

• Minimum 10 years of experience as a Database Administrator or in a comparable role.
• Expert-level knowledge of PostgreSQL, including internals, configuration, and advanced features.
• Proven experience with AWS RDS and Aurora for PostgreSQL deployments.
• Practical experience with Terraform for infrastructure maintenance and development.
• Fluent English and strong expertise in database performance tuning and resource management.
