Lead Data Platform Engineer

emagine Polska is looking for a Lead Data Platform Engineer to join a project focused on developing a cloud-native Data Platform for a large-scale e-commerce marketplace. You will play a key role in enhancing developer experience and streamlining data processes through automation, standardization, and the implementation of modern data engineering practices.

Key responsibilities

• Design and develop tools that standardize, automate, and simplify Data Platform operations.
• Build and maintain internal CLI tools and develop Data Product templates based on modern engineering practices.
• Design and implement Agentic AI workflows and developer-assistance capabilities to improve platform usability.
• Maintain and enhance a shared Apache Airflow platform based on Cloud Composer.
• Develop and maintain infrastructure-as-code assets and Terraform modules while contributing to GitOps adoption.

Requirements

• Strong commercial experience with Python development and Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
• Practical experience with BigQuery, Apache Airflow, and cloud-based data platforms.
• Proven experience building platform engineering, developer tooling, or internal self-service solutions.
• Knowledge of Infrastructure as Code practices, Terraform, and GitOps principles.
• Experience with PySpark or Apache Spark ecosystems and modern software delivery practices.
