Lead Data Engineer

Magna Legal Services is a leading provider of comprehensive legal support, dedicated to helping clients navigate complex challenges through expertise and innovation. We are currently seeking a hands-on Lead Data Engineer to take ownership of our enterprise data platform, driving the architecture, development, and modernization of our data infrastructure in a fully remote environment.

Key responsibilities

• Own the technical direction and evolution of our Snowflake data warehouse, ensuring high performance, scalability, security, and cost efficiency.
• Design and standardize scalable ETL/ELT pipelines, including the transition toward Azure Data Factory.
• Establish and uphold rigorous engineering standards for code quality, testing, documentation, and data governance.
• Develop dimensional data models and star schemas using modern transformation frameworks like dbt.
• Mentor team members, conduct code reviews, and collaborate with business stakeholders to translate data needs into actionable technical roadmaps.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field.
• Over 5 years of progressive experience in data engineering with a focus on modern cloud environments.
• Advanced hands-on expertise with Snowflake architecture, performance tuning, and security.
• Strong proficiency in SQL and Python for data processing, automation, and system troubleshooting.
• Proven experience in designing scalable ETL/ELT pipelines and implementing medallion architectures.
• Demonstrated technical leadership skills, including mentoring, cross-functional collaboration, and project delivery.
