Lead Backend Engineer (Data & IoT)

5Blue Software is seeking a Lead Backend Engineer (Data & IoT) to join our team in building and scaling a modern SaaS platform. You will play a pivotal role in designing backend services, managing complex workflows, and ensuring high-quality delivery for our business users while collaborating across product and engineering teams.

Key responsibilities

• Lead sprint execution and provide day-to-day technical coordination for the engineering team.
• Translate product specifications and designs into actionable, implementable backlog items.
• Design and implement robust backend services, APIs, data models, and system integrations.
• Build and maintain MQTT and event ingestion flows to support our data pipelines.
• Ensure multi-tenant data isolation, implement alert logic, and maintain system auditability.

Requirements

• Over 7 years of professional experience in backend engineering.
• Proven track record in a Technical Lead or Team Lead role with strong architectural judgment.
• Deep expertise in PostgreSQL and complex data modeling.
• Experience with event-driven systems, message queues, and IoT telemetry pipelines.
• Proficiency with MQTT, Kafka, or stream processing tools like Flink, Spark, or Beam.
• Strong ownership, communication skills, and at least an upper-intermediate level of English.
