Kotlin Engineer

VirtusLab is a team of technology enthusiasts focused on building high-quality developer tooling. We are currently seeking a skilled Kotlin Engineer to join our remote-first team, where you will have the autonomy to design, scope, and implement solutions for IntelliJ plugins, IDEs, and AI-driven frameworks.

Key responsibilities

• Developing and maintaining advanced developer tooling using Kotlin.
• Taking full end-to-end ownership of features, from initial design to final implementation and testing.
• Collaborating within a small, flexible team to build IDE plugins and frameworks for Local AI inference.
• Applying engineering pragmatism to reduce system complexity while ensuring long-term extensibility.
• Utilizing LLMs effectively to enhance development workflows and productivity.

Requirements

• Expert-level proficiency in Kotlin or strong Java expertise with a deep understanding of Kotlin.
• Advanced knowledge of asynchronous and concurrent programming, specifically with Kotlin Coroutines.
• High agency and the ability to drive projects forward in a dynamic, evolving environment.
• Strong self-motivation and the ability to work independently in a remote setting.
• Advanced English communication skills for effective collaboration with a global team.
