Kafka Engineer

YOUR ITEAMS sp. z o.o. is looking for an experienced Kafka Engineer to design, build, and operate a robust Apache Kafka environment spanning across cloud and on-premises infrastructure. You will work with Confluent Platform and Confluent Cloud to implement secure replication, automated pipelines, and advanced observability across distributed systems in a collaborative, agile environment.

Key responsibilities

• Design, deploy, and support Kafka-based solutions on AWS, including MSK and EKS.
• Implement and maintain data replication between environments using MirrorMaker 2, Cluster Linking, and Confluent Replicator.
• Create and operate CI/CD pipelines and Infrastructure as Code practices to manage cloud Kafka infrastructure.
• Develop automation for Kafka integration tests and continuous validation of deployments.
• Implement monitoring and observability for Kafka services using tools like Prometheus, Grafana, and OpenTelemetry.

Requirements

• Minimum 4 years of hands-on experience with Apache Kafka and Confluent Platform.
• Proven experience with cluster migration and replication technologies.
• Practical experience with AWS services such as VPC, IAM, EKS, and MSK.
• Proficiency in scripting and automation using Python, Ansible, and Bash.
• Strong understanding of security concepts including TLS, SASL, ACLs, and RBAC.
• Experience working in Agile teams using Scrum or Kanban.
