Junior Security Engineer

Nortal is seeking a dedicated Security Engineer to integrate security practices into the software delivery lifecycle, enabling teams to build and release secure products efficiently. You will collaborate with engineering, product, and platform teams to implement security controls, manage vulnerabilities, and foster a culture of secure engineering.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct threat modelling, secure code reviews, and architecture reviews based on established security standards.
• Identify attack vectors and data flow weaknesses while providing actionable remediation guidance to development teams.
• Perform vulnerability discovery, security testing, and prioritization of findings using risk frameworks.
• Maintain security scanning, pipeline gates, and infrastructure-as-code security automation.
• Participate in security incident investigations, root cause analysis, and post-incident reviews.

Requirements

• Experience applying security engineering practices within software, cloud, or platform environments.
• Solid knowledge of secure software development principles, threat modelling, and vulnerability management.
• Understanding of application and cloud security risks, including authentication, encryption, and data protection.
• Familiarity with security tooling for code analysis, vulnerability identification, and monitoring.
• Strong analytical and communication skills with experience working in agile delivery environments.
