Java + Kotlin Developer

Avenga is looking for a Senior Software Engineer to join an international project within the Pharma & Life Sciences sector. You will contribute to the development of a modern platform designed to integrate and manage biosample data, ensuring it remains findable, accessible, interoperable, and reusable for scientific research and operational analysis.

Key responsibilities

• Design and implement new features while conducting technical spikes to solve complex challenges.
• Perform code reviews and maintain high standards of software quality and validation.
• Translate business needs into robust technical solutions and create detailed documentation.
• Support the team in architectural decision-making and provide mentorship to less experienced developers.
• Collaborate with internal partners to ensure product success and technological alignment.

Requirements

• Extensive experience in software development within enterprise-level projects.
• Expert knowledge of Java and strong proficiency in microservice architectures.
• Practical experience with JVM-based technologies, with Kotlin being a significant advantage.
• Solid understanding of SQL and NoSQL databases, as well as cloud computing models like AWS.
• Proficiency in testing frameworks such as JUnit and Testcontainers, alongside TDD and BDD practices.
• Strong DevOps mindset with experience in containerization and agile Scrum methodologies.
