iOS Software Engineer

Our client, an early-stage AI company, is looking for an iOS Software Engineer to build the mobile experience for a next-generation proactive AI assistant.

This isn’t about adding AI features to an existing app. AI is the product.

You’ll own the iOS experience from the ground up, building an application where every interaction with the assistant feels fast, reliable, and intuitive.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Build and maintain production-quality iOS applications using Swift and SwiftUI

• Integrate AI capabilities through backend APIs and ensure seamless user experiences

• Design intuitive AI interaction patterns, including streaming responses, loading states, retries, and graceful fallbacks

• Optimize application performance, memory usage, battery consumption, and responsiveness

• Collaborate closely with backend and machine learning engineers on API design and AI behavior

• Collect user signals and feedback to improve AI quality and product experience

• Maintain high standards for App Store quality, stability, monitoring, and production reliability

• Troubleshoot production issues, perform root cause analysis, and continuously improve application resilience
  

REQUIREMENTS

• 3+ years of professional iOS development experience with Swift

• Strong experience building applications with SwiftUI

• Experience integrating AI-powered features or intelligent backend services into mobile applications

• Solid understanding of async/await, Swift concurrency, and background task management

• Strong knowledge of iOS performance optimization, memory management, and battery efficiency

• Experience shipping and maintaining production iOS applications

• Comfortable designing software that handles latency, partial failures, and non-deterministic AI behavior

• Strong product mindset with an eye for creating trustworthy AI user experiences

• Experience with CoreML or lightweight on-device machine learning

• Knowledge of SQL and NoSQL databases
  

NICE TO HAVE

• Familiarity with TensorFlow Lite for on-device inference

• Experience with feature flagging or remote configuration systems

• Experience working in fast-moving startup environments
