Arista Networks is seeking talented Intern or Graduate Software Engineers to join our Platform team. You will work at the intersection of hardware and software, building the foundation for our networking ASICs and infrastructure while contributing to high-performance, ultra-low-latency networking solutions.
Key responsibilities
- Write Linux user space and kernel code to manage DMA operations across 32-bit and 64-bit memory spaces.
- Access ASIC registers via SPI, SMbus, PCIe, and I2C to implement high-resolution timers and gather real-time network congestion statistics.
- Develop configuration management services using Go and Python to support standardized protocols like YANG, OpenConfig, and NETCONF.
- Create fault-tolerant, concurrent routing protocol agents in C/C++ within a Linux embedded environment.
- Contribute to a fully automated, Python-based continuous test harness to ensure high availability and performance.
Requirements
- Strong proficiency or aptitude in C and C++.
- Knowledge of networking fundamentals and Linux embedded systems.
- Solid understanding of algorithms and data structures.
- A genuine passion for programming and solving complex technical challenges.
