Intellectual Property Counsel

Micro1 is seeking a seasoned Intellectual Property Counsel to join a pioneering team at the forefront of legal AI development. This role offers an opportunity for elite legal professionals to shape how advanced AI models are trained, evaluated, and applied to real-world legal workflows, specifically focusing on contract drafting and negotiation.

Key responsibilities

• Perform simulated contract negotiations and complex redlining exercises to test AI capabilities.
• Review and assess AI-generated responses to contract scenarios, providing expert feedback to enhance model performance and precision.
• Develop objective evaluation frameworks and grading criteria to assess AI performance on legal tasks with rigor.
• Collaborate with product and research teams to refine data, guidelines, and best practices for AI-driven contract review solutions.

Requirements

• J.D. from an ABA-accredited law school and active bar admission in at least one U.S. jurisdiction.
• Minimum of 3 years of counsel experience focused on technology transactions, including MSAs, NDAs, and DPAs.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills with meticulous attention to detail.
• Strong analytical capabilities and the ability to translate complex legal expertise into actionable feedback for AI systems.
• Demonstrated commitment to innovation at the intersection of law and technology.
