IVPN is a mission-driven company focused on privacy, operating a mature and profitable network of services including VPN, DNS filtering, and email aliasing. We are looking for an infrastructure engineer to join our fully remote team to upgrade and maintain our high-performance network of bare-metal servers with a high level of autonomy.
Key responsibilities
- Roll out our new immutable, diskless, and secure VPN gateway fleet built on bare-metal servers.
- Deploy new endpoints and engineer routing improvements for our DNS service.
- Ensure high availability of our production network and drive automation across our infrastructure.
- Interface with ISPs to resolve upstream network issues and provide tier 2/3 support.
- Share an on-call rotation with the senior infrastructure engineer.
Requirements
- Strong understanding of infosec, cryptographic controls, TCP/IP, SSL/TLS, and internet protocols.
- 3+ years of experience managing Linux servers in production, including bare-metal environments.
- 3+ years of experience with configuration management tools like Ansible, Puppet, or Salt.
- Proficiency in writing utility scripts in Python, Go, or Bash.
- Excellent written communication skills and a strong automation mindset.
