Infrastructure Engineer (IBM)

EXPinIT is seeking a skilled Infrastructure Engineer to join our team and focus on the design, development, and maintenance of robust mainframe applications. You will play a critical role in ensuring system stability while leading modernization initiatives in a fully remote environment.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain mainframe applications using COBOL, CICS, IMS, JCL, and DB2.
• Support and integrate enterprise messaging solutions using MQ and related middleware technologies.
• Perform DB2 administration, performance tuning, and utility management using industry-standard tools.
• Lead mainframe upgrade, migration, and modernization initiatives with minimal business disruption.
• Develop and maintain automation solutions using REXX, Python, and z/OSMF workflows to improve operational efficiency.

Requirements

• Proven experience with CICS, IMS, or MQ integration.
• Strong knowledge of DB2 tools, including IBM tools, CA, and BMC utilities.
• Practical exposure to automation scripting such as REXX, Python, or z/OSMF workflows.
• Demonstrated experience in managing complex migration and upgrade projects.
