IBM i engineer

We are currently seeking a Senior IBM i Administrator and Power Systems Infrastructure Engineer to provide technical leadership and advanced support for our IBM Power environments, ensuring platform stability, security, and continuous improvement.

Key responsibilities

• Managing IBM Power Systems infrastructure, including Power servers, HMC, VIOS, LPARs, and PowerVM virtualization.
• Planning and executing IBM i operating system upgrades, PTF maintenance, and lifecycle activities.
• Designing and implementing disaster recovery, backup, and high availability solutions, including PowerHA.
• Leading infrastructure modernization, migrations, and hardware refreshes.
• Performing root cause analysis for incidents and driving permanent resolution of recurring issues.

Requirements

• Strong experience administering IBM i (AS/400, iSeries) environments in enterprise organizations.
• Solid knowledge of IBM Power Systems architecture, HMC administration, and VIOS management.
• Proven ability to plan and execute IBM i OS upgrades and complex lifecycle maintenance.
• Strong troubleshooting skills across operating system, infrastructure, and storage layers.
• Understanding of IBM i security, compliance requirements, and backup/recovery concepts.
