Head of Finance (Russian Speaker)

Whizz is the largest e-bike subscription service for gig delivery workers in North America, providing maintained and insured e-bikes to independent couriers. We are looking for a Head of Finance to own our finance and accounting functions, ensuring accurate reporting, disciplined budgeting, and robust financial control within our asset-heavy business model.

Key responsibilities

• Own the preparation and accuracy of the P&L, cash flow statement, and balance sheet, ensuring a consistent and timely monthly close.
• Manage inventory and fixed asset accounting, including depreciation policies for bikes and spare parts, and reconcile operational records against the general ledger.
• Maintain the company financial model, build annual and quarterly budgets with department heads, and track performance against plans.
• Establish and oversee financial control functions, including spend controls, approval procedures, and segregation of duties.
• Manage in-house accounting staff and outsourced partners, ensuring high quality standards and adherence to deadlines.
• Oversee payroll, multi-state tax compliance, statutory reporting, and audit readiness.

Requirements

• 7+ years of experience in accounting and finance, with a proven track record as a Controller or Head of Finance.
• Deep understanding of the US market, including multi-state payroll and tax compliance.
• Experience with inventory and fixed asset accounting in a physical, operational business.
• Strong systems skills, including experience with accounting system implementation or migration.
• Proven ability to build processes from the ground up in a fast-paced environment.
