Head of Engineering, Supply Chain

Moniepoint is Africa’s leading financial platform, processing over $250 billion in annual transaction value and supporting millions of businesses. We are currently expanding our engineering presence and are looking for a Head of Engineering, Supply Chain to lead the software systems behind our global POS hardware operations.

Key responsibilities

• Own the technical strategy and architecture for inventory, logistics, and repair management software.
• Lead an engineering organization of approximately 25 professionals, including managers, QA, SRE, and Data Engineering.
• Drive the platformization of supply chain systems to ensure operational data is consistent across millions of terminals.
• Define architecture standards, engineering processes, and quality metrics to ensure system reliability.
• Collaborate with business stakeholders to translate operational requirements into scalable engineering solutions.

Requirements

• 10–15 years of software engineering experience, with at least 5 years leading engineering teams through growth phases.
• 5+ years of hands-on, production-level experience writing and shipping Java code.
• At least 5 years of experience managing managers within an engineering organization.
• Deep expertise in supply chain, inventory, or logistics software at scale.
• Strong background in backend engineering for data-intensive, distributed, operational systems.
• Proven ability to design systems for large-scale environments managing hundreds of thousands of devices.
