Head of Engineering, Rewards

Moniepoint is Africa’s all-in-one financial platform, serving 20 million businesses and individuals with seamless payments, banking, and credit tools. We are looking for a Head of Engineering to lead our Rewards platform, a critical component of our retention strategy, as we expand our engineering presence.

Key responsibilities

• Own the technical strategy, architecture, and roadmap for the Rewards platform end-to-end.
• Improve the performance and reliability of our existing cashback product.
• Evolve the platform into a comprehensive rewards, engagement, and personalization system.
• Build and scale the engineering organization, including hiring and mentoring Engineering Managers.
• Establish a strong experimentation culture using A/B testing and data-driven insights.
• Partner with Product, Growth, and Marketing to translate business objectives into technical initiatives.

Requirements

• Extensive experience in direct-to-consumer product engineering at scale.
• Strong depth in front-end and mobile engineering, with a proven track record of shipping consumer-facing products.
• At least 5 years of experience managing other engineering managers.
• Hands-on technical leadership skills with 10+ years of overall software engineering experience.
• Proficiency in backend environments, specifically Java and Spring Boot.
• Ability to translate complex business objectives into scalable engineering solutions.
