Head of Engineering, Field Verification

Moniepoint is Africa’s all-in-one financial platform, processing over $250 billion in annual transaction value. We are currently seeking a Head of Engineering for our Field Verification domain to join our growing team in Poland and lead the technical strategy for our critical identity and business verification infrastructure.

Key responsibilities

• Own the technical strategy, architecture, and roadmap for the Field Verification platform.
• Lead and grow a cross-functional team, transitioning from maintenance to proactive development.
• Build operational efficiency layers, including route optimization and task allocation for field officers.
• Develop a native mobile experience and robust APIs for internal business units.
• Define engineering standards and ensure verification data meets strict compliance requirements.
• Partner with product and business stakeholders to support multi-country expansion.

Requirements

• 10+ years of software engineering experience with strong backend depth (Java/Spring Boot).
• At least 5 years of engineering leadership experience, including managing other managers.
• Proven ability to build platforms that serve multiple internal business units.
• Technical credibility across backend, web, and mobile disciplines.
• Strong problem-solving skills and experience translating operational needs into technical solutions.
• Experience with geospatial data, route optimization, or KYC systems is considered a strong plus.
