Data Engineer with Oracle

We are looking for a skilled professional to join our Data Team.

In this role, you will take responsibility for the technical management and support of a large-scale database and its related application, with a focus on system migration and decommissioning activities. You will also be involved in application management, including contract and license administration as well as lifecycle management.

The position involves supporting a business area focused on delivering sustainable energy solutions, including heat, power, and carbon capture initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the sunsetting of a large database system, ensuring full data migration to a modern data ecosystem.
• Plan, coordinate, and validate migration activities in collaboration with vendors, consultants, and data owners.
• Provide guidance and consultancy to stakeholders on migration processes and best practices.
• Handle day-to-day application and database management tasks, ensuring operational stability.
• Manage technical aspects of contracts, licenses, and lifecycle processes for assigned applications.
• Contribute as an active member of the Data Engineering team, supporting additional products and prioritized initiatives.

Requirements

• Proven experience with Oracle database management.
• Hands-on experience in application management and lifecycle operations.
• Strong knowledge of Postgres/Timeseries databases.
• Proficiency in Python and/or C#.
• Familiarity with Kubernetes and CI/CD pipelines.
• Experience in vendor and contract management.
• Solid background in data engineering practices.
