Global Settlements Associate 1

Alpaca is a US-headquartered, global leader in agent-first brokerage infrastructure for stocks, ETFs, options, crypto, and more. We are looking for a Global Settlements Associate to join our distributed team and help us open financial services to everyone on the planet.

Key responsibilities

• Own the end-to-end global equity settlement process, partnering with custodians and counterparties to ensure timely and accurate settlement.
• Monitor daily settlement activity, proactively identify risks, and resolve trade discrepancies or exceptions.
• Perform daily reconciliations of securities positions and cash balances across multiple global markets and currencies.
• Ensure operational processes comply with SEC, FINRA, and global market regulations while maintaining organized records for audits.
• Partner with Engineering and Product teams to automate manual workflows and improve operational efficiency using data tools.

Requirements

• 2+ years of experience in brokerage operations with a focus on global equity settlements.
• Strong understanding of securities settlement lifecycles, SWIFT messaging, and international settlement practices.
• Experience performing cash and position reconciliations across multiple currencies and markets.
• Working knowledge of SQL, Metabase, or similar data analysis tools.
• Ability to obtain the Series 99 license within 180 days of hire.
