Global Head of Security / CISO

Base is a global technology platform empowering entrepreneurs to succeed in the e-commerce landscape. We are seeking an experienced Global Head of Security / CISO to lead our security program through a phase of hyper-growth, ensuring our platform remains resilient, compliant, and secure.

Key responsibilities

• Own and evolve the global security strategy, roadmap, and governance model.
• Lead, mentor, and develop the security team to ensure clear priorities and professional growth.
• Partner with Product and Engineering teams to strengthen cloud, API, identity, and AI security.
• Maintain the ISO/IEC 27001-certified ISMS and lead the organization toward SOC 2 readiness.
• Represent the company in executive discussions, strategic customer reviews, and audits.

Requirements

• Senior security leadership experience within a SaaS, e-commerce, or cloud-native environment.
• Proven track record of maturing established security programs and leading security professionals.
• Broad expertise in product security, incident response, risk management, and security operations.
• Practical experience with ISO/IEC 27001, SOC 2 compliance, and modern security stacks.
• Strong business judgment with the ability to communicate effectively with executive leadership and technical teams.
