General Manager, MariaDB

Percona is seeking a visionary General Manager to lead and grow our MariaDB database business. This strategic role is responsible for driving innovation, establishing Percona as a thought leader in the MariaDB ecosystem, and scaling our open-source solutions for mission-critical deployments.

Key responsibilities

• Own and grow the MariaDB database business unit, reporting directly to the CEO.
• Scale adoption of open-source software across community and enterprise users.
• Lead a high-performing team to deliver 24/7 support, managed services, and professional services.
• Drive technical marketing, thought leadership, and strategic partnerships within the ecosystem.
• Collaborate with Sales and Customer Success teams to maximize business growth and customer retention.

Requirements

• Proven experience as a business-savvy technologist with deep expertise in databases and open source.
• Strong understanding of modern developer needs and the challenges of running databases at scale.
• Entrepreneurial mindset with a track record of extreme ownership and delivering results.
• Ability to manage budgets, align stakeholders, and lead cross-functional teams effectively.
• Experience with MariaDB-compatible databases is considered a significant advantage.
