GCP Data Engineer - freelance

Lingaro is seeking a skilled GCP Data Engineer to join their team in a freelance capacity. You will play a pivotal role in designing, modeling, and developing comprehensive data ecosystems within the Google Cloud Platform environment, ensuring high-impact solutions for global clients.

Key responsibilities

• Design and develop robust GCP data ecosystems using services such as Cloud Storage, Cloud Functions, and BigQuery.
• Gather, analyze, and document complex business and technical requirements through direct client interaction.
• Model data from diverse sources and optimize storage architectures, including data lakes and warehouses.
• Troubleshoot data processing issues, monitor system performance, and conduct root cause analysis to ensure operational efficiency.
• Mentor junior team members and facilitate knowledge transfer within the engineering team.

Requirements

• Minimum of 4 years of professional experience as a Data Engineer specifically within GCP cloud-based infrastructure.
• Advanced proficiency in SQL (BigQuery) and Python, with strong skills in database management and NoSQL systems.
• Extensive experience building and deploying data pipelines using orchestration tools like Airflow.
• Deep understanding of ETL/ELT processes and modern data transformation tools such as DBT or Dataform.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to lead client discussions and collaborate effectively in distributed, multinational teams.
