QA Engineer (Functional & Configuration)
We are looking for a skilled QA Engineer with a strong business-functional mindset to join our team. You'll ensure quality across identity, authentication, and registration services — and play a key role in setting up and validating the market-specific configurations that drive consumer experiences across brands, channels, and regions.
YOUR DAY-TO-DAY
As a QA Engineer, you will:
Own functional test design — translate business requirements, user stories, and acceptance criteria into comprehensive test scenarios that validate real consumer journeys (registration, login, OTP, profile management)
Set up and manage market configurations — create, validate, and maintain per-market, per-channel, per-brand configuration entries in DynamoDB that control feature behavior across 70+ markets
Write and maintain integration tests using Cucumber (Gherkin) and Pactum — defining feature files and step definitions that validate end-to-end API behavior across environments and market configurations
Be the bridge between product and engineering — work closely with Product Owners to clarify requirements, identify edge cases early, and ensure acceptance criteria are testable and complete
Validate multi-market, multi-channel behavior — test that configuration changes produce the correct behavior per locale (EU/US), channel, and brand
Manage test data and environments — set up test consumers, configure market settings, and prepare ephemeral environments for feature validation
Track quality and traceability using Xray and Jira — link test cases to user stories, manage test execution cycles, and report coverage and defect trends to stakeholders
Validate third-party integrations — test OTP delivery (Twilio voice/SMS), identity flows (SAP CDC/Gigya), messaging (SFMC), and fraud checks (Accertify)
Support release readiness — verify configuration deployments, run regression suites, and confirm that new markets or channels can be onboarded without regressions
Drive quality practices within your team and contribute to the QA Community of Practice — sharing test patterns, configuration best practices, and process improvements
YOU SHOULD APPLY IF YOU HAVE
Bachelor's Degree or higher in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or equivalent
3+ years professional experience as a QA Engineer with a functional/business testing focus
Strong ability to understand business requirements and translate them into structured test scenarios and acceptance criteria
Experience with BDD frameworks (Cucumber/Gherkin) — writing feature files that express business behavior in plain language
Familiarity with API testing — validating RESTful services via tools like Pactum, Postman, or equivalent
Experience with configuration-driven systems — you've worked with platforms where behavior varies by market, tenant, region, or feature flag
Experience with test management tools (Xray, Jira) for planning, execution, and traceability
Comfortable working with JSON data structures — you can read, create, and validate configuration payloads and schemas
Experience with Git and basic CI/CD awareness — you understand where tests run in the pipeline
Strong Agile/Scrum experience — you actively participate in refinement, planning, and retrospectives
Excellent communication skills — you can articulate quality risks to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
ADDITIONAL EXPERIENCE WE VALUE
Experience querying DynamoDB or NoSQL databases — ability to verify and set up configuration data directly at the storage layer
Familiarity with TypeScript/JavaScript for reading or contributing to test automation code
Understanding of identity/authentication domains (OTP, registration flows, MFA, consent management)
Experience with multi-region or multi-tenant systems where configuration drives behavior differently per market
Exposure to JSON Schema validation — understanding how schemas enforce configuration correctness
Experience onboarding new markets, tenants, or channels — setting up configuration from scratch and validating the rollout
Familiarity with feature toggle platforms and progressive rollout strategies
Experience with exploratory testing techniques for complex, configuration-heavy systems
Knowledge of data privacy and consent regulations (GDPR) as they affect test data and market behavior
Exposure to monitoring dashboards (CloudWatch, ELK) for post-deployment validation
