Freelance Data Scientist with Ontology and Graph expertise

adesso Belgium is seeking a skilled Data Scientist to join a project focused on building an AI Agent Platform Data Foundation for an international procurement services provider. You will play a critical role in designing and implementing the data and context layer that powers the customer's procurement AI agent platform, ensuring production-grade infrastructure from the start.

Key responsibilities

• Design and deliver reference data products including Supplier Master, Spend Cube, and Contract Register.
• Operate the platform and working graphs, including ontology, reference data, and tenant separation.
• Build matching rules, golden records, and stewardship processes for suppliers and contracts.
• Develop document-extraction pipelines with confidence scoring and maintain labelled evaluation datasets.
• Implement quality feedback loops to route agent overrides and failures back to data owners.

Requirements

• Proven experience taking knowledge graph systems to production using Neo4J and Python.
• Strong background in semantic modeling, including ontologies, taxonomies, and business glossaries.
• Hands-on experience with semantic web standards such as OWL/OWL2, RDF, RDFS, and SPARQL.
• Experience designing hybrid retrieval architectures combining graph and vector databases for RAG and AI workloads.
• Proficiency in modern data engineering practices including CI/CD, version control, and automated testing.
