Fractional Senior People Advisor

Educate! is a leading youth employment and skills provider in East Africa, dedicated to unlocking the potential of the world’s youngest population. We are currently seeking a Fractional Senior People Advisor to partner with our CEO and executive team, providing high-level strategic guidance as we continue to scale our impact across Uganda, Rwanda, Kenya, and Tanzania.

Key responsibilities

• Act as a senior people business partner to the executive team, offering independent insights on organizational design, team composition, and succession planning.
• Pressure-test critical decisions, identify potential risks, and provide practical advice on complex people matters including restructures, performance management, and grievances.
• Translate global policies and local employment laws into actionable options that balance commercial needs with organizational trust.
• Coach team members through interpersonal and cross-cultural dynamics within our multi-country, matrixed organization.
• Shape and refine internal communications regarding leadership transitions, policy changes, and organizational shifts to ensure clarity and consistency.

Requirements

• 8+ years of experience in senior HR, people operations, or organizational development roles, including experience as a business partner to executive leadership.
• Exceptional writing skills with the ability to translate complex decisions into clear, honest, and effective communication.
• Ability to act as an objective, direct, and discreet advisor who is comfortable challenging the status quo.
