Financial Markets / Risk Technology Engineer

West Code is seeking experienced engineers to join our team for high-impact technology projects within investment banking, capital markets, and risk management. We are looking for professionals who combine robust software engineering expertise with a deep understanding of financial-market environments, where performance, data integrity, and business-domain context are paramount.

Key responsibilities

• Developing backend services that support critical trading, risk, and capital-markets workflows.
• Building and maintaining real-time, event-driven systems and high-throughput data processing pipelines.
• Designing APIs and integrations across front-, middle-, and back-office systems.
• Collaborating on technical architecture and design decisions with senior engineers and domain stakeholders.
• Ensuring the reliability, auditability, and continuous improvement of business-critical platforms.

Requirements

• Minimum of 5 years of professional software engineering experience.
• Strong backend development skills in Java, Kotlin, Python, or C++.
• Proven experience with distributed, event-driven, or high-volume systems.
• Solid understanding of production reliability, failure handling, and SQL data management.
• Commercial experience in investment banking, asset management, hedge funds, or financial risk technology.
• Strong communication skills in English and the ability to work effectively with business stakeholders.
