Financial Controller (Remote - Work from Anywhere)

Xapo Bank is a fully distributed, Bitcoin-first regulated credit institution seeking a Financial Controller to own the integrity of financial reporting across the group. You will lead the Financial Controlling and Regulatory Reporting teams, ensuring high standards of accuracy and compliance while working in a 100% remote environment.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare consolidated and entity financial statements under IFRS and FRS 102, managing the full cycle from draft to sign-off.
• Lead regulatory reporting to the GFSC and FCA, including prudential returns on capital and liquidity.
• Manage the group external audit process, serving as the primary contact for auditors and ensuring timely completion.
• Develop and lead the Financial Controlling and Regulatory Reporting teams, fostering a culture of high performance and accountability.
• Drive finance transformation by implementing AI and automation tools to improve month-end close and reporting processes.

Requirements

• Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent) with at least 5 years of experience leading an accounting function.
• Strong technical knowledge of IFRS and FRS 102, with specific experience in crypto asset accounting.
• Proven experience in a bank, fintech, or crypto business, including regulatory reporting and external audit management.
• Proficiency in NetSuite and advanced Excel/Google Sheets; SQL or BI tool experience is a plus.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain complex financial data to non-finance stakeholders.
